Easter Cruise of beautiful Orkney.

5 Fri 23/04 Sat 08/05 6 Scrabster, Scotland to Bergen, Norway
Norway in May! All the guides say this is a great time to visit. Fjords, spring flowers and scents, friendly Vikings! What an arrival. 300-400 miles of open sea and coastal sailing. Easy flights and ferries back to the UK.

Bergen to Bergen - Cruise South, return by a different route. The Hardangerfjord and its arms, jagged pine-clad mountains, incredible grandeur. Mostly within the protection of the Skaergard - hundreds of islands offshore - each with their own character, life, sea-route and fascination. 150-200 miles
7 Sun 10/05 Sat 16/05 6 NORWAY
Bergen to Bergen - Cruise North, return by a different route. The delightful Sognefjord, with hundreds of islands and safe/secure anchorage's - many involve mooring to rocks, also includes the famous narrows at Grunnesundet! Busy fishing villages of 50 people or total solitude. Scenery to take your breath away. 150 - 250 miles of sailing within the protection of the Skaergard.
8 Tue 18/05 Tue 25/05 7 Bergen to Trondheim. Cruising North again with a little more pace this time - 317 miles. Sognefjord, Nordfjord are on the way as is Hornelen - Norway's highest vertical cliff 859 metres directly overhead! Alesund is regarded as Norway's most beautiful town. An exciting mix of inter Island and coastal sailing. History and beauty combined.
9 Fri 28/05 Sat 11/06 14 Trondheim - Norway bound for Seydisfyordur - Eastern Iceland. This passage of 700 miles minimum will be an Ocean Qualifying Passage for RYA Ocean purposes. Option: enough time is available to explorer the Faroe Islands. Or the East coast of Iceland. Our arrival has always been dramatic - we seem to go quiet, eyes think its an illusion. Beauty that overwhelms.
10 Wed 16/06 Sun 27/06 11 ICELAND
Seydisfjordur bound for Akureyri in Northern Iceland. 400 miles of 24 hours daylight, deep ravines, waterfalls, a wealth of flora, whales puffins, gillimots and temperatures of 16 degrees Celsius. Visit Grimsey Island. In the Arctic Circle with cliff walks in pure air. Mostly day sailing, stopping in peaceful anchorage's or harbours. Husavik is called the whale watching capital of the world. Akureyri hides amid snow capped mountains at the head of Iceland's longest fjord.
11 Wed 30/06 Sat 10/07 10 Akuryri bound for Isafjordur NW Iceland. This leg is mostly day sailing, around the Horn, into remote untouched beaches, fields of wild flowers, welcoming Icelanders in their summer houses. We may fish for our supper. Collect glacier water to top up tanks. This area is food for the soul. You can't help but be moved. Look into the heart of a blue glacier, thousands of years old! 350 - 400 miles. Escape to the West Fjords.
12 Tue 13/07 Fri 23/07 10 Isafjordur to Isafjordur. The West Fjords - an ideal place for hikers, nature lovers, and individuals who love natures art. The 6 fjords which run into the Isafjardardjup provide protected all weather sailing. Each fjord has its own surprises and distinctive character, enchanting space and quiet. Majestic diversity. Sail anchor walk and explore with us - a land where trolls still abound! 200 - 300 miles of relaxed sailing.
13 Sun 25/07 Wed 04/08 10 Isafjordur bound for Keflavik - Reykjavik.
Jules Verne wrote 'journey to the centre of the earth' on this leg. His inspiration was the volcano Snaefellsjokull. Start in the West Fjords you will round the Latrabjarg - the most Westerly point, bird covered cliffs, hundreds of Islands. Your eyes need time to adjust to the scale. Reykjavik a beautiful city, must enchant you. 350 - 450 miles, day sails, anchorage's, fishing harbours and long legs.
14 Sat 07/08 Tue 17/08 10 Keflavik - Reykjavik bound for Oban Scotland.
An Ocean Qualifying Passage for those who need their RYA 'Ocean'. 700 miles or so of open sea passage, with a chance of visiting St. Kilda or the Westerman Is. Spare days, maybe able to explore some of the lovely Scottish Islands.
15 Fri 20/08 Sat 28/08 8 SCOTLAND AND IRELAND
Oban - Scotland bound for Whitehaven Scottish Island Cruise, Ireland, Isle of Man are all on the menu! Lots of 60 mile passages, decisions, communication, opportunities for Day Skipper, Coastal and Yachtmasters. Great sailing to 'friendly' destinations for all levels of experience 300 - 400 miles.
16 Tue 31/08 Sat 08/09 8 Whitehaven bound for Falmouth - Cornwall via Ireland. The Scilly Is and lots of friendly Celtic Ports deserve a visit. Learning opportunities for all levels, night hours and sea miles. Ireland and the Westcountry in September. Beautiful sailing 300 - 400 miles. Guiness with Cornish Pasties!!
17 Fri 10/09 Sat 18/09 8 WESTCOUNTRY, SOUTH COAST CHANNEL IS. And BRITTANY
Falmouth - Cornwall bound for Southampton
Cross channel passages to Brittany. Anchorage's seafood and wine. We will endeavor to complete lots of miles in this fantastic cruising area. Tides with long ranges, Traffic separation schemes, secondary ports - all providing experience building opportunities, 500 miles or so. This leg will suit skippers and crews looking to hone skills and build confidence as well as those with less experience who would just like to enjoy sailing this popular area. We will also spend time deploying a 20' diameter sea anchor, drogue storm sails, heavy weather training and boat management in those difficult conditions!! Finish at the Hamble.
18 Sun 17/10 Sat 02/11 16 ATLANTIC
Hamble - Southampton bound for Canary Is. An ocean passage, cross Biscay, visit Portugal, Madeira and various Canary Islands. Finish at Gran Canaria. This leg is a great experience for seasoned sailors as well as those wishing to build their sea miles. Also a qualifying passage for Yacht Master Ocean candidates. We can supply charts / pilotage information beforehand enabling you to be fully involved in the planning. All books, sextants, equipment carried.
19 Thu 23/12 T.B.C. Approx 26 "ARC" ATLANTIC RALLY FOR CRUISERS
Take part in this translatlantic event from Gran Canaria to St Lucia. Enough time is built in to cruise the Caribbean. trade wind sailing, sun, fair winds and lots of fun are ordered. This will be an Ocean Qualifying passage for Yacht Master Ocean, as well as a fantastic adventure for those with less experience. Yachmaster Ocean Instructor Skipper and First Mate will look after you on a licensed vessel. 3000 miles minimum. Let us know if you are interested.
